Current Members of the Council on Future Practice
- Nancy Nevin-Folino, MEd, RD, CSP, FADA, LD is the chair of the Council. She is currently the Neonatal Nutrition Specialist at Dayton Children’s in Dayton, Ohio, and has a private pediatric nutrition practice with the Pediatric Associates of Dayton. She holds a specialty credential from CDR along with the Fellow of the American Dietetic Association, and has participated in several of ADA/CDR advanced practice projects. Nancy is a CDR Board Certified Specialist in Pediatrics and her expertise include the following: neonatal nutrition, former premature infants with nutrition/growth problems, failure to thrive for infants and toddlers, childhood obesity and children with special health care needs.
- Peter L. Beyer, MS, RD is Associate Professor in Dietetics and Nutrition at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Peter has been involved in dietetics for approximately 40 years and is primarily involved with teaching students in a clinical nutrition internship and Master’s program. His areas of practice expertise are applied nutrition research, and several areas of nutrition practice (i.e., GI) and clinical nutrition management.
- Evelyn F. Crayton, EdD, RD, LD is the Assistant Director, Extension Family and Consumer Sciences, for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Professor, Nutrition and Food Sciences, Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She is a practice expert in community nutrition, health literacy (writing low literacy materials), home food preservation and supervision and administration. Evelyn is the liaison from the HOD Leadership Team and ADA Board of Directors to the Council.
- Rick Hall, MS, RD is a lecturer at Arizona State University in Anthem, Arizona and a multi-unit restaurant owner in Arizona. Rick’s areas of practice expertise include foodservice management, health communications and computer applications in nutrition.
- Beth Leonberg, MS, MA, RD, CSP, FADA, LDN is an Instructor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also the Editor-in-Chief for the ADA Pediatric Nutrition Care Manual and a consultant with the Early Intervention Program. Beth is CDR’s representative to the Council. She has practice expertise in pediatric nutrition, clinical staffing and professional development.
- Tammy J. Lindberg, MS, RD, LD is the Director of Food and Nutrition Services at Texas Center for Infectious Disease, San Antonio, Texas. She retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service that provided experience in leadership, clinical, community/public health, research, disaster preparedness and response, humanitarian/refugee health, and as dietetic intern preceptor.
- Nora Nyland, PhD, RD, CD is the Dietetics Program Director for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Nora is the liaison from the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) to the Council. Her practice expertise includes management in dietetics, foodservice management, and dietetics education.
- Egondu M. Onuoha, MS, RD, CDN, IBCLC, CDE is the WIC Program Administrator and Director of collaborative initiatives including Nurse Family Partnership (NFP), Prenatal Care Assistance Programs (PCAP) and Diabetes Programs at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. Her practice expertise is in program planning, implementation and evaluation, community nutrition services, health promotion and disease prevention services for women, infants and children.
- Lauri Wright, PhD, RD is the Dietetic Internship Director and Assistant Professor at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. Lauri’s areas of practice expertise include dietetics education, distance learning, HIV disease, and nutritional assessment.
