Issue Impacting the Profession
The revision of the Dietetics Scope of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance has been and remains an issue of concern for all Dietetic Technicians. As Past Chair of DTP, I actively participated in the Quality Management process to assure that the concerns of the DTR were heard and addressed.
How have you promoted ADA's mission/vision/values?
I have made every effort to positively represent the dietetic profession through dedicated service to clients, co-workers and the community at large. By serving on committees such as quality management and customer satisfaction, I have had the opportunity to demonstrate the excellent preparation and training our field provides for us to serve as leaders in a variety of venues relating to health initiatives.
In assessing your skills, which ones do you think best prepare you to be an ADA leader and why?
The skill I consider to best prepare me for leadership in ADA is resourcefulness. When confronted with a given situation or problem there are usually limiting factors that need to be overcome. Obstacles such as funding or manpower can often impede resolution. By utilizing uncommon ways and means to help solve problems you can often achieve highly successful outcomes.
