Leadership Institute 2009
Under the direction of the Center for Professional Development and the Professional Development Committee, ADA’s Leadership Institute is an integrated, intensive, multi-format certificate training program in the theory and practice of leadership in dietetics. The purpose of the program is to enhance the leadership competencies of ADA members both conceptually and interpersonally, through a combination of information, skill development and practice-based educational experiences.
ADA’s Leadership Institute presents a forum for learning, dialogue and sharing of perspectives. As a learning community, we ask you to be active participants and engage in the exploration of ideas and discovery of new concepts. Sessions, breakouts and working meals are organized sequentially for participants to experience a new set of leadership skills. The Leadership Institute supports the Association’s commitment to develop its members by ensuring they embody a leadership mindset for innovation, adaptability, empowerment and risk-taking.
Goals of the Leadership Institute
- Strengthen leadership performance for application in practice by ADA members.
- Assist members to master change in both personal and professional environments.
- Advance the goals of the profession.
- Enhance member communication, mentoring and team building skills.
